As part of a three-team trade, the Rangers acquired White from the Athletics in exchange for Kyle Bird, Brock Burke, Yoel Espinal, and $750,000 in international signing bonus pool space, Emilio Pagán, Rollie Lacy, and a competitive balance pick in the 2019 MLB draft from the Rays, and Jurickson Profar was acquired by the Athletics from the Rays.

That year, White was a Triple-A baseball player in the Pacific Coast League with the Nashville Sounds. White’s season was cut short on August 20 when he crashed into an outfield wall and suffered a shoulder injury.
