Eli White is an American professional baseball utility player for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2020.

As part of a three-team trade, the Rangers acquired White from the Athletics in exchange for Kyle Bird, Brock Burke, Yoel Espinal, and $750,000 in international signing bonus pool space, Emilio Pagán, Rollie Lacy, and a competitive balance pick in the 2019 MLB draft from the Rays, and Jurickson Profar was acquired by the Athletics from the Rays.


That year, White was a Triple-A baseball player in the Pacific Coast League with the Nashville Sounds. White’s season was cut short on August 20 when he crashed into an outfield wall and suffered a shoulder injury.



In 116 games this year, White batted.253/.320/.418/.738 with 14 home homers and 43 RBI.

Against the Houston Astros, White made his MLB debut on September 1, 2020. White had a.188 average with three RBIs in 19 games with Texas during the 2020 season.

For his first and second career home runs, White hit one off of Houston Astros starter Zack Greinke and the other off of Astros starter-turned-relief Cristian Javier on June 16, 2021.

In 2021, he played for the Round Rock Express of the Triple-A West, where he batted.343/.450/.537/.987 with three home runs and 11 RBIs.

He batted.177/.259/.308/.567 in 64 games for Texas in 2021, accumulating 6 home runs and 15 RBIs.

What Happened To Eli White?



To repair a damaged UCL in his right elbow, Eli White had an internal bracing treatment. Initially, the team stated that White had an elbow strain, but he has since recovered and returned to the team.
