Teoscar Hernandez, born as Teoscar José Hernández is a baseball player of Dominican descent who ays the position of an outfielder for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball(MLB).



Teoscar Hernández signed with the Houston Astros as an international free agent in February 2011. He also made his professional debut that year playing for the Dominican Summer League Astros. In 2012, he spent the season playing for both the Rookie-level Gulf Coast Astros and the Class-A Lexington Legends of the South Atlantic League.

Teoscar’s 2014 season began with the Lancaster JetHawks of the Advanced-A California League but he was later on promoted to the Corpus Christi Hooks of the Double-A Texas League. For his 2015 baseball season, he spent the entire season playing for the Double-A Corpus Christie.



The Astros traded him in July 2017 to the Toronto Blue Jays and he was immediately assigned to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons. In August that year, the Blue Jays’ manager John Gibbons announced that Teoscar would be called up to the major leagues on September 1.

In 2021, he earned his first career All-Star nod as he was selected to start the 2021 All-Star Game for the American League. In March 2022, Teoscar signed a $10.65 million contract with the Blue Jays, avoiding salary arbitration.
