Preston Williams is a wide receiver for the National Football League’s Carolina Panthers in American football. Williams received his high school education at Lovejoy High School, located in Lovejoy, Georgia. He has made a verbal commitment to play college football for the University of Tennessee.
Preston Williams attended Colorado State University and played college football for the Colorado State Rams football team.
Between 2015 and 2016, Williams was a student and athlete at the University of Tennessee. During that period, he had a total of 16 receptions, which resulted in 247 yards and two touchdowns.
In 2017, he made the switch to Colorado State University. Williams had 96 receptions for 1,345 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2018, following a season in which he was forced to sit out due to transfer rules imposed by the NCAA.
He finished in second place in the Mountain West Conference in receiving touchdowns while leading the conference in receiving yards and receptions. After the 2018 season, he decided to forego his senior year of college football in order to pursue the 2019 NFL Draft.
On May 9, 2019, Williams became a member of the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent after signing with the team. He was one of the 53 players to make the final roster. In the Dolphins’ season opener against the Baltimore Ravens, he made his debut in the National Football League.
In the game that they lost 59–10, he had three receptions for 24 yards and scored his first touchdown in his professional career. During the ninth game of the season, Williams led the team to a 26–18 victory over the New York Jets with five receptions, 72 yards, and two touchdowns.
Williams joined the Carolina Panthers practice squad after signing a contract with the team on September 5, 2022.

Williams was sidelined for seven games during the previous season and dressed for two others but did not participate in any of those games. One of those games was in Buffalo, and it was during that game that he was sent back to Miami for violating the team’s rules.
