Armani was born on December 4, 1997, in Buffalo, New York, and is the son of former NFL linebacker Sam Rogers.
He was raised in Los Angeles and graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School, where as a senior he rushed for 431 yards and six touchdowns and passed for 1,433 yards and 18 scores.
Rogers, a three-star prospect, initially chose California over offers from UCLA, Washington, and Utah to play collegiate football. After the coaching staff at California changed during his senior year, he decided against committing, and later signed with UNLV after considering Fresno State.

He played quarterback in college football for the Ohio Bobcats and the UNLV Rebels, and in 2021, he set the NCAA record for the longest run by a quarterback with a run of 99 yards. In 2022, Rogers became an undrafted free agent and signed with the Commanders.
At the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Rogers started his college career and redshirted his first year.
During his redshirt freshman campaign, he started nine games for the Rebels and was named the Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year after completing 99 of 189 pass attempts for 1,471 yards and six touchdowns with five interceptions.
He also set a school record with 780 rushing yards and eight touchdowns, and he completed 99 of 189 pass attempts.
Rogers transitioned to tight end prior to playing in the 2022 East-West Shrine Bowl. He signed with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2022.
