Second baseman Lux was called up by the Dodgers on September 2, 2019 to make his major league debut against the Colorado Rockies.

Singled on the first pitch and doubled in his second at-bat against Peter Lambert. In addition to his three RBI, he also went 3-for-4 on the day.

The Baltimore Orioles’ Tanner Scott hit Lux’s first MLB home run on September 10, 2019. He got 18 hits (.240) with two home runs and nine runs scored in 23 games with the Dodgers.

A pinch-hit solo home run off Washington Nationals pitcher Hunter Strickland gave Lux his postseason debut on October 3 with a solo shot.

Lux became the youngest player in postseason history to hit a pinch-hit home run at the age of 21 years and 314 days.

During the 2017 NLDS against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Cody Bellinger hit a home run at the age of 22 years and 88 days, making him the youngest Dodger to hit a postseason home run.

In July, the COVID-19 pandemic shortened the 2020 season, and Lux missed the first week of training camp.

Unable to make up the time, he was optioned and will now begin the season at the team’s alternate training facility

. Since his recall to the Dodgers didn’t occur until early in the month of September, he only got to participate in 19 games, going 3-for-8 (.175) with three home runs and eight RBIs in only 63 at-bats.

His name was initially omitted from the postseason roster for the first round before being reinstated for Game 2.

Despite making one plate appearance in the series, he was not included in the team’s subsequent rosters.
