Springer is one of three children born to Laura Springer and George Springer II. His talent and interest in sports are most likely a result of both of his parents being former athletes.

His father played Little League World Series baseball and collegiate football at the University of Connecticut. Instead of being a professional athlete, he chose to become a lawyer.

Baseball was a sport that Springer’s granddad enjoyed as well. He left Panama at the age of 17 to pursue his professional playing dream in the United States.

He pitched for four years at the former Teachers College of Connecticut before an arm injury interrupted his career. He subsequently began coaching and educating others.
