Austin Riley is a professional baseball third baseman for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball. The Atlanta Braves picked Austin Riley in the 2015 MLB Draft, and he made a promising debut in 2019.

Austin Riley is the 24-year-old son of Mike and Elisa Riley. Austin Riley’s baseball career began at DeSoto Central High School and continued at Mississippi State University.

Austin spent many years as a member of the Mississippi State Bulldogs baseball team before being chosen in 2015.

Riley made his professional debut that season with the Gulf Coast Braves. After 30 games, he was promoted to the Appalachian League’s Danville Braves.

He batted in 60 games overall. Over 217 at-bats, he hit 304/.389/.544 with 12 home homers. Riley spent some time in spring training with the Atlanta Braves before beginning the 2017 season with the Florida Fire Frogs.

In July, he was promoted to the Mississippi Braves. Riley hit.275/.339/.446 with 20 home runs and 74 RBIs in 129 games between Florida and Mississippi before being sent to the Peoria Javelinas of the Arizona Fall League at the end of the minor league regular season. Riley was invited to spring training before the start of the 2018 season.
