Thairo Jose Estrada Villegas, professionally called Thairo Estrada is a professional baseball player from Venezuela born on February 22, 1996, in Bejuma, Venezuela. He is currently with the San Francisco Giants baseball team and plays as an infielder for the team.



Thairo had both his primary education and high school education at a private school in his birth town in Venezuela. After his family moved to America, the New York Yankees team signed him to their team as an international free agent in August 2012 for a $49,000 signing bonus.

In 2013, Thairo made his professional debut with the Rookie League Gulf Coast Yankees, a minor league team and an affiliate to the Yankees. In 2017, he was named the Eastern League Mid-Season All-Star and Post-Season All-Star as well as the Minor League Baseball Organization All-Star.



Thairo was added to the Yankee’s 40-man roster that year after which he played for the Scottsdale Scorpions of the Arizona Fall League. He was promoted to the major leagues on April 4, 2019, but he was not allowed to play in a major league game.

On April 12, 2019, he was promoted again to the majors and this time he was able to make his MLB debut that day. In April 2021, the Yankees traded him to the San Francisco Giants.
