Gregory Santos is one of the youngest professional baseball players currently with the San Francisco Giants baseball team. Gregory is from the Dominican Republic and has been with the Giants since 2015.
Greg was born in August 1999 in San Cristóbal Province in the Dominican Republic. He had his amateur baseball career in his hometown before he was signed by the Boston Red Sox team as an international free agent in August 2015.
He was then assigned to play in minor league with the DSL Red Sox to make his professional debut. The Red Sox traded him to the San Francisco Giants in July 2017 in exchange for another player. After the trade, the Giants assigned him to play for the DSL Red Sox and the DSL Giants for the 2017 season.
During the 2018 minor league season, he played for the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes where he was named the Northwest League midseason All-Star. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic that hit in 2020, Greg did not play in a game in the 2020 season.
At the end of the 2020 season, the Giants added him to their 40-man roster and promoted him to the major leagues in April 2021. He made his MLB debut that same day for the Giants.
