Stephen Ridings Contract, Salary and Net Worth

The Chicago Cubs selected Haverford College pitcher Stephen Ridings in the eighth round of the 2016 amateur draft.

He pitched for the AZL Cubs and Eugene Emeralds in the Cubs’ organization in 2017 and 2018, with ERAs of 4.09 and 4.15, respectively.

In a minor-league trade on March 8, 2018, he was sent to the Kansas City Royals in exchange for Donnie Dewees.

He then dropped back down to the Rookie Class Pioneer League with the Idaho Falls Chukars, where he played in 13 games with a record of 4-3, 5.91, and made 11 starts.

He hadn’t contributed much up to that point, so when major league teams started to trim their farm rosters as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, which wiped out the 2020 minor league season, and the Minor League Reorganization, which eliminated some minor league teams before the 2021 season, he was one of those who paid the price, being released by the Royals on November 4th.

To say that Stephen’s release from the Royals was the best thing that could have happened is not an exaggeration.
