Alexander James Wells, simply called Alexander Wells is an Australian born baseball pitcher who plays for the Baltimore Orioles baseball team.
As an Australian, Alexander signed with the Baltimore Orioles in 2015 as an international free agent. In 2016, he spent the whole baseball season playing in the minor league for the Aberdeen IronBirds and made his professional debut with them that year.
For the 2018 and 2019 baseball seasons, Alexander played for the High-A Frederick Keys and then the Double-A Bowie Baysox. He also played a little for the Surprise Saguaros which happens to be a baseball team that plays in the West Division of the Arizona Fall League.
There was no minor league game in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In November 2020, the Orioles added him to their 40-man roster where he was placed to the Triple-A Norfolk Tides to start the 2021 baseball season.
Alexander made his MLB debut on June 26 2021 for the Orioles after he was promoted to the major leagues. The Orioles played against the Houston Astros and won that game.
