Kathy May Fritz is an American tennis player who competed professionally in the past.

She made it to the quarterfinals of two of the Grand Slam tournaments she played in, once at the United States Open in 1978 and twice at the French Open between 1977 and 1978.

She finished her career with seven wins at the WTA singles tournament, and she reached a career-high ranking of no. 10 in the world.



After her marriage to tennis player Brian Teacher in 1979, she also competed under the name Kathy May Teacher.

Additionally, she competed under the name Kathy May-Paben. In addition to being a professional tennis player himself, her son Taylor Fritz won the ITF Junior World Championship in 2015.

Beverly Hills, California is the city where May was both born and raised. She is the great-granddaughter of David May, the person who established The May Department Stores Company.
