Tony Dow is an American actor, film producer, director, and sculptor. He is best known for his role in the television sitcom Leave It to Beaver, which ran in primetime from 1957 to 1963.



In spite of the fact that he had absolutely no previous acting experience, Dow was cast as Wally Cleaver in the television show Leave It to Beaver. This was the beginning of his career. Dow was a regular cast member on Leave It to Beaver throughout its entire run, which lasted from 1954 through 1963.

After that, he had guest appearances on a number of other popular television programs, such as My Three Sons, Dr. Kildare, The Greatest Show on Earth, and Never Too Young, as well as five episodes of Mr. Novak, in which he played three distinct characters.



After that, he had a break in his acting career when he was in the United States National Guard from 1965 until 1968.

Upon his comeback to the acting world, he appeared as a guest star on episodes of the television shows Adam-12, Love American Style, Knight Rider, Square Pegs, The Mod Squad, The Hardy Boys, and Emergency!

The actor and his ex-wife Carol Marie Theresa Marlow, to whom he was married from 1969 to 1980, have a son together named Christopher. In 1973, Christopher was born on the 26th of March.

In the 1980s revival of The New Leave It to Beaver, he played a “Young Wally,” a flashback version of his father. The New Leave It to Beaver depicted the family life of the original sitcom’s children as adults.

When he was 16, he played a 16-year-old version of Wally Cleaver in 1989, and in 1998, he played a 1963 version of his father’s character.

Since then, he has remained out of the public eye, preferring a more secluded existence away of the Hollywood spotlight.
