In October 2014, Bruján was signed as an international free agent by the Tampa Bay Rays.

It was in the Dominican Summer League Rays in 2015 that he made his professional baseball debut when he batted.301 with two home runs, 20 RBIs, and 22 stolen bases over 60 games.

It was with Hudson Valley in 2017 that he batted.285 with three home runs, 20 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases in 67 games after splitting 2016 with the Gulf Coast Rays and Hudson Valley Renegades and hitting.271 with one home run and eight RBIs in 51 games combined.

While playing for both the Bowling Green Hot Rods and the Charlotte Stone Crabs in 2018, the outfielder had an excellent year with a career-high nine home runs, 53 runs batted in, and 55 stolen bases in 122 games.

While with the Charlotte and Montgomery Biscuits this year, he hit.277/.346/3.38/.735 with four home runs and 40 RBIs in a season-long split.
