What Filipino Tradition is Usually Done Every Easter Sunday?

The people of Filipino are known to celebrate Easter Sunday with an event known as Salubong or “welcoming.”

Men in the country accompany the statue of the Risen Jesus, and still-sorrowful women follow the statue of the Virgin Mary until the mother and the son meet.

The event is done to celebrate the passing and risen of the Messiah Jesus Christ.
