What is Clarence Thomas Known for?

Thomas is known to be a popular Lawyer and Justice to serve on the Supreme Court.

Thomas is well-known for his reserved demeanor when it comes to oral arguments.

Thomas did not ask another question from the bench for more than ten years after asking one during a death penalty case on February 22, 2006, until February 29, 2016, in response to a question about whether people convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence should be permanently barred from possessing firearms.

Thomas has a reputation for aligning himself with the Court’s conservative wing. During his stay on the Court, he has given only a few media interviews.

“One of the reasons I don’t give media interviews is that in the past, the media often had its own script,” he said in 2007.

Thomas received a $1.5 million advance the same year for his memoir, My Grandfather’s Son, which went on to become a best-seller.
