On Thursday, the two-time major winner appeared more suited for a run around St. Andrews than he did for a round on the Old Course.

Golfers who follow the latest fashion trends were shocked when they saw Phil Mickelson compete in the first round of the British Open wearing what appeared to be a black t-shirt that was covered up beautifully by a quarter-zip.

Later in the day, however, all eyes were on Justin Thomas, who began his round at the Old Course dressed in jogging pants and a hooded sweatshirt, giving the impression that he was going for a stroll through the neighborhood rather than trying to win his first major championship. This shifted the focus of everyone’s attention to Thomas.

As a matter of public record, Thomas’s opening-round look was crafted by Greyson Clothiers. According to the script of the brand, Thomas is supposed to be wearing Rumson joggers and a Blackwatch Camoscap Cokato hoodie.

The current PGA champion, Justin Thomas, will go for a more classic look on Friday by wearing the brand’s Maltese blue Montauk pants and Raven Tomahawk sweater as an outer layer.
