Tyrann Devine Mathieu is an American football safety who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL).

He was a member of the Louisiana State University football team (LSU). He earned the moniker “the Honey Badger” after the mammal of the same name.

Tyrann set a Southeastern Conference (SEC) record with 11 career forced fumbles and earned the nickname “the Honey Badger” after the mammal of the same name. He has named a consensus All-American in his sophomore season, won the Chuck Bednarik Award for the greatest defensive player in college football, and was a Heisman Trophy nominee.
