Corey Matthaei is an American football coach who works in the National Football League (NFL). He has worked with the Kansas City Chiefs since 2018 as their assistant offensive line coach.

Corey Matthaei has been a coach to two NFL teams. He coached the Philadelphia Eagles before joining the Kansas City Chiefs.

Prior to taking on this position with the Chiefs, he held three prior positions with the Philadelphia Eagles
After three seasons as an assistant quarterbacks coach, he took on the role of head quarterbacks coach. As the quality control coach for the Chiefs, he began his tenure with the team in 2013.
Matthaei was an offensive lineman for Willamette University in Salem, Oregon from  (2003-06) before he began his NFL career.

Since joining the team in 2013, Matthaei has guided Smith to five consecutive seasons with at least 3,000 yards passing. After the 2017 season, Smith became the franchise’s all-time highest rusher among quarterbacks (1,672 yards).

During the 2013 season, Matthaei was part of an offensive staff that led the Chiefs to the greatest turnaround in franchise history, winning 11 games following a 2-14 season.
