Springer is one of Laura Springer and George Springer II’s three children. His talent and love for sports most likely stem from the fact that both of his parents were former athletes.

His father participated in both baseball’s Little League World Series and collegiate football at the University of Connecticut. But instead of going pro as an athlete, he decided to become a lawyer.

Baseball was a game that Springer’s grandfather also cherished greatly. At the age of 17, he left Panama and came to the United States to pursue his professional playing dream.

He played pitcher for four years at what was once known as the Teachers College of Connecticut before an arm injury ended his career. He then started mentoring and instructing.
