COACHES FROM THE PREVIOUS REGIME REMAINED

Tim Kelly (offensive coordinator), Danny Barrett (running backs), DeNarius McGhee (offensive assistant), and Bobby King (Defensive Line), were all retained by the Houston Texans

Will Lawing (Tight Ends) and Deon Broomfield (Defensive Assistant) were expected to be retained before opting to return to college. Lawing has been hired as an offensive analyst for Alabama, while Broomfield has been hired as the safeties coach at Iowa State.

After their success in the passing game, the Texans wanted some consistency on the offensive side of the ball, according to Culley.
