He was born on March 2, 1954, and spent most of his football career with the Cincinnati Bengals. As a matter of fact, he is the player with the most touchdowns (70) in the history of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Johnson was born in Fort Valley in Georgia and was raised by his great-grandparents. He attended Peach County High School for three years where he played football. During his stay at Ohio State University, he played college football under head coach Woody Hayes.

With regards to his NFL career, Johnson was the team’s leading rusher for all seven seasons he played for them and scored 12 or more rushing touchdowns in three different seasons. He had his best in 1981 where he made his only Pro Bowl selection.
