Steve Spagnuolo is an American football coach who is the defensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL).
Spagnuolo began his NFL coaching career in the Philadelphia Eagles organization in 1999, serving as linebackers and defensive backs coach. He remained there for eight years.
In January 2007, he was recruited as the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants under lead trainer Tom Coughlin.
He burned through two years in New York and was the engineer of the forceful cautious methodology against the New England Patriots (the most elevated scoring hostile group in NFL history at that point) in Super Bowl XLII, which was instrumental in the nearby triumph by the Giants.
