How old is the Boston Red Sox Pitcher Valdez?

Phillips Valdéz is 30 years old. He was born on November 16, 1991.

The Boston Red Sox claimed Valdéz off waivers on February 23, 2020. On March 8, he was assigned to the Pawtucket Red Sox of the Triple-A affiliate.

Valdéz made his Red Sox debut on July 24, pitching two scoreless innings of relief in a 13–2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles in the first game of the delayed-start 2020 season.

Valdéz earned his first MLB win on August 25, pitching 1+23 scoreless innings in a 9–7 triumph over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Valdéz pitched in 24 games for the 2020 Red Sox, all in relief, amassing a 1–1 record with a 3.26 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 30+13 innings pitched.

Valdéz joined Boston’s bullpen for the 2021 season. He collected his first major league saves on June 6, in an extra-innings road game against the New York Yankees after closer Matt Barnes blew a save in the bottom of the ninth.

After pitching three times in four days, Valdéz was optioned to the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox on June 10.

On July 23, he was recalled to Boston, returned to Worcester on August 12, and was recalled to Boston again on August 30. Valdéz was placed on the COVID-related list on September 12th.
