The “Gangsta’s Paradise” rapper Coolio has reportedly passed away at the age of 59 after having a heart attack.

Since childhood, Coolio has been affected by a malady that is not only fatal but also quite common, and it has been a source of “severe difficulty” for him over the years.

At one point, it got to be so bad that he passed out on stage, and the people in the audience had to help him up.

What Sickness Was Coolio Suffering From?

The rapper Coolio passed away at the age of 59 on Wednesday from what is being called a heart attack, according to his manager.

Coolio was visiting a friend in Los Angeles, according to his longtime manager Jarez Posey, who added that the musician was later discovered on the bathroom floor, lifeless.

As a child, the composer of “Gangsta’s Paradise” also struggled with a debilitating illness. While performing in Brooklyn back in February of 2016, the celebrity was unable to make it through even a short five-song set.

At the Hill Country Barbeque Market in Brooklyn, the Fantastic Voyage rapper was playing an impromptu set when he suffered an asthma attack. Coolio has had a lifelong battle with asthma.

Page Six reported at the time that an eyewitness said, “Coolio was having problems with his asthma, but someone from the audience offered him with their inhaler that he used between verses of ‘Gangsta’s Paradise,’ and his other songs.”

The actor has suffered from Asthma before, so this attack wasn’t the first.

The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant had “a couple of episodes” of asthma as a child that nearly cost the celebrity his life.

During a flashback interview with USA Today, he recalled, “I had a few incidents with asthma where I was in terrible trouble and could have died.”
