Taylor Harry Fritz is an American tennis player who competes at the professional level.

He has a career-high singles rating of world No. 13, which he attained on March 21, 2022, and a doubles ranking of world No. 104, which he achieved on July 26, 2021.

Both rankings were obtained from the Association of Tennis Professionals.

He has triumphed in singles competition on the ATP Tour three times, most notably at the Masters 1000 level in 2022 at the Indian Wells Masters.

At the 2016 Memphis Open, Fritz competed in only his third professional event and made it all the way to the final round. Only one other American, John Isner, has played in fewer career events than him and made it to an ATP final.

He finished in second place in the junior singles competition at the 2015 French Open after winning a junior major singles title at the 2015 United States Open.

Kathy May, a former top-10 player, and Guy Henry Fritz, who also played professional tennis and was voted US Olympic Development Coach of the Year 2016, are Fritz’s parents.

Fritz is the youngest of their three sons, and his father was also a professional tennis player. Taylor Fritz is the great-grandson of Morton D. May and the great-great-grandson of David May, the founder of The May Department Stores Company, which later amalgamated with Macy’s.

Chris and Kyle, who are both older than Fritz, are his maternal half-brothers.

Fritz spent his childhood in Rancho Santa Fe, which is located in the San Diego metropolitan area, with his brothers.

He went to Torrey Pines High School, where as a freshman he took first place in the CIF singles competition for the San Diego division of the tournament.

A few months into his sophomore year, he made the decision to switch to an online high school in order to compete full-time in ITF junior events.
