Who is the Cleveland Guardians Mascot?

The Cleveland Guardians have a mascot named Slider that represents the team. He is a huge, fluffy, fuchsia-colored monster with a lot of personalities.

He has a huge yellow nose and yellow eyebrows that are scruffy. Inspired by the Phillie Phanatic, he was formed in 1990 and has been around since.

A 1995 incident during the American League Championship Series caused him to fall six feet from an outfield wall and tear knee ligaments, making him his most well-known figure. In 2008, he was given the honor of being inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame.

Progressive Field has been their home since 1994. Goodyear Ballpark in Goodyear, Arizona serves as the team’s spring training home.

The club has won 10 Central division crowns, six American League pennants, and two World Series triumphs since its inception as a Major League franchise in 1901. (in 1920 and 1948). The franchise has been without a World Series championship since 1948, making it the longest ongoing drought among all 30 Major League teams.

The name of the squad is a reference to the Guardians of Traffic, a group of eight monolithic Art Deco statues by Henry Hering that can be found next to Progressive Field on the city’s Hope Memorial Bridge. “Slider” is the name of the team’s mascot.
