The Kansas City Royals have won just a single (1) Central Division title and it was in 2015. Below is a brief note about the 2015 season.
The Central Division Title Won By Kansas City Royals In 2015
Kansas City Royals season 2015 marked the franchise’s 47th season in the majors and the team’s 43rd at Kauffman Stadium. As a result of winning the American League in 2014, the Royals qualified for their second straight World Series participation in 2015. They were victorious for the first time since 1985 in the series.
This marked the first time since 1985 that the Royals have won their division. On September 24, 2015, the Royals earned their first American League Central title. They began the postseason by defeating the Houston Astros in five games in the Division Series, and then they defeated the Toronto Blue Jays in six games in the American League Championship Series to go to the World Series.
Their World Series victory over the New York Mets in 2015 was their second in team history, as they won in five games after falling down in the first game. Because of the Royals’ World Series victory, they became only the second club to do so since the 1989 Oakland Athletics, who did it after losing the World Series in the previous season.
