The 2022 Golf Masters Tournament is going to be the 86th edition of the Master’s Tournament and the very first of men’s four major golf championships. The event will commence on April 7 2022 to April 10, 2022. It will be held at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia in the United States.
Since 1949, the tournament has had this tradition of awarding winners a green jacket which must be returned to the golf clubhouse a year after the victory. The winner is also not allowed to take off the jacket whiles at the clubhouse.
It is only in a few cases such as a first-time winner or a currently reigning champion that may be allowed to remove the jacket from the club grounds. Winners are also awarded cash prizes.
During the 2021 Masters Tournament, the prize money was $11.5 million. The winner got a share of $2,070,000, the first runner up received $1,242,000, the second got $782,000 and the third revived what was left out of the $11.5 million, which was $552,000.
Apart from receiving a traditional jacket and Cash, winners also have their names engraved on the actual silver Master’s trophy.
