American pitcher Peter Joseph Lambert, who plays for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball, was born on April 18, 1997.

In California’s San Dimas, Lambert attended San Dimas High School. He went 13-0 with a 0.34 earned run average as a senior in 2015, winning the Los Angeles Times prep baseball player of the year award (ERA). He pledged to play baseball for the UCLA Bruins in college.

In the second round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft, the Colorado Rockies selected Lambert. He joined the Rockies and made his career debut with the Grand Junction Rockies after signing them.

He pitched for Grand Junction in eight games, going 0-4 with a 3.45 ERA. While playing with the Asheville Tourists in 2016, Lambert amassed a 5-8 record and a 3.93 ERA.

In 2018, Lambert split time between the Hartford Yard Goats and the Albuquerque Isotopes, going a combined 10-7 with a 3.28 ERA in 26 starts between both clubs.

In 2017, Lambert pitched for the Lancaster JetHawks, compiling a 9-8 record with a 4.17 ERA in a career-high 142.1 innings pitched. He resumed 2019 in Albuquerque.

Colorado promoted Lambert to the major leagues on June 6, 2019. He made his debut against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field on the same day, pitching seven innings while allowing only one run and striking out nine batters to lead the Colorado Rockies to a 3-1 victory.

Lambert underwent Tommy John surgery in late July 2020 and would miss the 2020 campaign. He was reinstated from the injured list on September 24.

Jimmy Lambert, who plays baseball professionally and presently pitches for the Chicago White Sox, is Lambert’s brother.

Jimmy was named the Mountain West League Co-Pitcher of the Year in 2016 as a junior at Fresno State (with Griffin Jax), compiling an 8-0 record and a 2.65 ERA in 10 conference start.

He was chosen by the Chicago White Sox in the fifth round of the 2016 MLB draft after his junior year, and he signed for $325,000.
