On August 9, 1996, he was born in Winter Park, Florida, the United States. In his hometown of birth, he grew up participating in youth baseball teams. He played baseball for the school’s baseball team while a student at Lake Mary High School. He was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 2015 MLB Draft and passed up the opportunity to play collegiate baseball for the Florida State Seminoles after high school.
He signed with the Rockies for a signing bonus of $5.5 million, and that season he made his major league debut with the Pioneer League’s Rookie-level Grand Junction Rockies. He was moved up by the Rockies to the Low-A Asheville Tourists for the 2016 season.
He played for both the Hartford Yard Goats and the Lancaster JetHawks during the 2017 season. He was initially promoted to the majors by the Rockies in May 2019, and on May 17 of that same year, he played his first MLB game.
