Are Braves Games Still On TBS?

After being awarded a national broadcast contract covering all of Major League Baseball in 2008, TBS gradually stopped providing national coverage of Atlanta Braves baseball games.

Braves TBS Baseball was an American presentation of regular season Major League Baseball (MLB) game telecasts that was broadcast on the American cable and satellite network TBS. The games featured the Atlanta Braves National League franchise.

Turner Sports, the sports division of Turner Broadcasting System, a part of Time Warner, the corporate parent of Turner Broadcasting System, was in charge of producing the games.

The show, which was initially presented for the first time in 1973, ceased its nationwide broadcasts in the year 2007.

WPCH-TV, the renamed former origination signal of the TBS superstation feed, maintained rights to a limited schedule of Braves games in the Atlanta market through 2013, although primary rights were later sold to cable regional sports networks and settled on Fox Sports South (now Bally Sports South).

It is possible for TBS to choose games involving the Atlanta Braves for national broadcast on the same basis as games involving other MLB clubs; however, if the regional rights-holder also broadcasts the game, TBS’s national broadcast will be blocked in the territory designated by MLB as belonging to the Braves.
