Political figure Samira Bawumia represents Ghana as the country’s second lady. Samira is married to Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president of Ghana.
Samira started her schooling at the Answarudeen Islamic School at Fadama and Alsyd Academy in Accra.
She then transferred to the Akosombo International School (AIS) and Mfantsiman Girls’ Secondary School at Saltpond in the Central Region of Ghana.
After being accepted to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), she pursued a BA in Social Science with a focus on law, sociology, and technology.
She received the Best Student in Master of Business Administration award at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), where she completed her postgraduate studies (MBA).

Alhaji Ahmed Ramadan is the father of Second-Lady Samira Bawumia. He is a former politician and chairman of People’s National Convention (PNC).
He was the previous chairman of the People’s National Convention and resigned from active politics in 2015. (PNC). He was chosen by President Akufo-Addo to serve as Ghana’s first ambassador to the United Arab Emirates in 2017.
Alhaji Ramadan is the father of three well-known Ghanaians: Samira Bawumia, Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, a candidate for the NDC’s Adentan seat in parliament, Abu Ramadan, a youth organizer for the PNC.
