Professional tennis player Jannik Sinner represents Italy at the world stage. As of 1 November 2021, he has been rated world No. 9 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and world No. 124 in doubles.
By winning the 2020 Sofia Open in Sofia, Bulgaria, Sinner became the youngest ATP titleholder since 2008 and the youngest to win five championships since Novak Djokovic in 2007 when he was just 17 years old.

It was at the tender age of thirteen that he gave up skiing and football in favour of tennis, and he left his family to train with Riccardo Piatti and Massimo Sartori full-time.
