Crowder is now a wide receiver with the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills and was born on June 17, 1993. He was selected by the Washington Redskins in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft after playing college football for Duke.
Due to a calf issue, Crowder won’t play again against the Bills on Sunday. Crowder ends the day with one catch for 16 yards on his lone target, presumably aggravating the calf injury that kept him out of Weeks 16 and 17.
Crowder, a Monroe, North Carolina, native, was a three-year letter winner for coach Johnny Sowell at Monroe High School. Monroe High School had a 29-10 record over those three years and qualified for three state playoffs during that time.
As a junior, he had 26 receptions for 618 yards and 19 touchdowns. He participated in the 74th Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, which was held in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on December 18, 2010.
Crowder played collegiate football for Duke University under head coach David Cutcliffe from 2011 to 2014. As a true freshman, he played in all 12 games and had 14 receptions for 163 yards and one touchdown.
The Washington Redskins selected Crowder with the 105th overall choice in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. On May 11, 2015, he agreed to a four-year rookie contract.
Crowder committed to the New York Jets on March 15, 2019, agreeing to a three-year, $28.5 million deal with $17 million in guarantees. Crowder made his Jets debut in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills. Crowder caught 14 catches for 99 yards during the contest, which the Jets defeated 17-16.
