Jordan Poyer

Football safety, Jordan Poyer, also known as Jordan Lynn-Baxter Poyer, is a player with the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. He played football for the Astoria High School team. As a senior and a freshman, respectively, he helped the baseball and football teams win state championships.

After graduating from high school, he enrolled at Oregon State University, where from 2009 to 2012 he played football for the Beavers. As a true freshman in 2009, he played in 13 games and recorded 11 tackles. The following year, he played cornerback, recording 34 tackles and 1,109 all-purpose yards.

The Philadelphia Eagles selected Poyer in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft. In May 2013, Poyer and the Eagles came to terms on a four-year, $2.22 million deal that also featured a $60,256 signing bonus. In October 2013, the Cleveland Browns claimed him off waivers. In Week 14 of that year’s December against the New England Patriots, a 27-26 loss, he made a season-high six solo tackles.

In March 2017, he and the Buffalo Bills came to terms on a four-year, $13 million contract. In March 2020, he and the Bills reached an agreement on a two-year contract extension. Poyer received his first professional selection to the 2021 All-Pro Team in January 2022.

Jordan Poyer’s parents are Louis Dunbar and Julie Poyer. His mother played volleyball at Eastern New Mexico University where she was a student. His dad on the other hand is an ex convict.
