Another defensive lineman has been added to the Buffalo Bills roster. Daniel Joseph, a defensive end out of North Carolina State, signed with the Bills as an undrafted rookie after trying out at last week’s rookie minicamp. Joseph shared an Instagram photo of him putting pen to paper to formalize the contract.
Originally from Brampton, Ontario, he started his collegiate career in 2016 as a redshirt freshman at Penn State. Over the course of the following three years with the Nittany Lions, Joseph appeared in 32 games, recording 29 tackles, five sacks, one forced fumble, and one recovered fumble. In January of 2020, he used the school’s transfer portal to enroll at North Carolina State.
He made eight starts for the Wolfpack that year and led the team with 6.5 sacks. In addition, he tallied 37 tackles and 10 sacks for a total of 50. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NCAA gave athletes an extra year to compete. Therefore, Joseph played for his sixth college season in 2021, ending with 46 tackles, nine for loss, and five sacks.
Despite having a 5.08-second 40-yard sprint and a 29-inch vertical leap at NC State’s pro day, Joseph was not picked. Despite being selected fourth overall by the B.C. Lions in the 2021 Canadian Football League draft, 6-foot-2 261-pound Joseph decided to play one more year of collegiate football for NC State.
How Much Does Daniel Joseph Make?
Daniel Joseph makes an average of $854,167 per year. Dodson’s base salary in 2022 will be $854,167.
