Josh Hammond, a receiver, was released by the Jaguars on Monday and was claimed by the Eagles on Tuesday.
After their own rookie minicamp and after signing three other players, the Jaguars released Hammond.
After graduating from Florida undrafted in 2020, Hammond, 23, joined the Jaguars as a free agent. Hammond only participated in two games with the Jaguars during the 2017 NFL season.
He took part in two special teams plays and 13 offensive snaps. Hammond does not have a single catch in the regular season of the National Football League.
In 2020, the Jaguars were led by GM Dave Caldwell of the Eagles, who signed Hammond.
The Eagles have 12 receivers on their 90-man roster after this week’s additions of Wheatfall and Hammond. There was room on that roster for the Eagles, therefore a comparable trade is not required.
With the Gators for four years, Hammond (6-0, 194 lbs.) was reliable but never had a standout year. Hammond recorded 87 catches for 1,138 yards and 6 touchdowns during his college career. His junior year of college in 2018, when he had 28/369/4, was his finest year.
Where did Josh Hammond go to college?
