American football running back for the New York Jets of the National Football League, Michael Carter was born on May 7, 1999. (NFL). In North Carolina, he participated in college football.
In Week 3 of his first season in 2021, Carter started his first game. In Week 4, he scored the first touchdown of his NFL career, leading the Tennessee Titans to a 27-24 victory.
In Week 11, he sustained a high ankle sprain, and on November 27, 2021, he was placed on an injured reserve. He became operational on December 18.
He ended his first season with 36 receptions for 325 receiving yards, 147 carries for 639 running yards and four rushing touchdowns. In terms of rushing yards among rookies in 2021, he came in fourth.
According to sources, Carter and other key Jets players plan to play in Sunday’s exhibition game against the Giants.
After starting the first preseason game, Carter and other significant veterans skipped the second one.
It won’t come as a surprise to anyone if Breece Hall, the rookie taken with the 36th overall pick in this year’s draft, ends up getting more touches in crucial games.
Hall took Carter’s place in the first game and participated in both. If Hall meets expectations and Carter improves upon his great rookie season, the Jets will eventually have one of the top backfields in the league.
Carter’s fantasy success may depend less on the quarterback’s and the offensive line’s performance if he doesn’t receive many carries and instead plays on passing downs.
It will be interesting to see how the Jets’ split between the two plays out in Sunday’s last preseason game.
