Tyus Bowser, an American football outside linebacker with the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens, was born on May 23, 1995. At Houston, he played collegiate football.
Bowser participated in football for the Lions team at John Tyler High School in Tyler, Texas. He recorded 24 sacks and 59 tackles as a senior. He made a commitment to play college football at the University of Houston.
From 2013 until 2016, Bowser played collegiate football for Houston. On August 30 versus Southern, Bowser made his collegiate debut and registered two tackles. He had his first interception and first two sacks as a collegiate player on September 21 in a victory over Rice.
Bowser was taken by the Baltimore Ravens with the 47th overall pick in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He was chosen as the third outside linebacker .
On May 5, 2017, the Ravens agreed to a four-year, $5.57 million deal with $3.37 million in guaranteed money and a $2.19 million signing bonus with Bowser.
Bowser and veteran Justin Houston, who may both be in their final seasons, have been the Ravens’ second-best defenders this season, according to Pro Football Focus ratings, behind veteran Calais Campbell.
There will be some changes made to Raven’s defense in the offseason of 2022, but one thing has become very evident. Bowser is now and will develop into a pillar of the Ravens’ defense.
Tyus Bowser, who played more than 200 snaps in run defense, pass rush, and coverage in 2021, is a Swiss Army knife for the Ravens’ defense.
With a significant increase in snaps played, Bowser achieved career highs of 40 quarterback pressures and seven sacks last season, earning him a grade of 70 or higher for the third consecutive season.
