On August 13, 1999, Patrick Queen, a middle linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League, was born. He played college football for LSU, and the Ravens selected him with the 28th overall choice in the 2020 NFL Draft.
His parents, Dwayne and Mary Sue raised Queen in Ventress, Louisiana, the youngest (and only male) of their four children.
Before transferring to high school, he participated in football at False River Academy during middle school.
Later, when a student at Livonia High School, he participated in football as a linebacker and a running back. Queen played on the football squad that won the 2014 state championship for Livonia High School.
The Baltimore Ravens selected Queen with the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He is the first LSU player ever selected by the Ravens.
In 12 games as a true freshman, Queen had six tackles. He recorded 40 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, and a sack in his second campaign. Queen began his junior year on the Butkus Award watch list.Queen had 69 tackles (eight for a loss), 2.5 sacks, three pass deflections, two breakups, an interception, and a fumble recovery at the end of the regular season.
Queen had eight tackles, 2.5 of them for a loss, and a combined sack versus Clemson, earning him the title of defensive MVP of the 2020 National Championship Game. After the season ended, Queen declared that he would forgo his senior year in order to declare for the 2020 NFL Draft.
