Justin Tucker plays football professionally and is a member of the National Football League. He serves as the placekicker for the Baltimore Ravens. He attended Westlake High School in Austin, Texas. He played wide receiver, safety, and placekicker for the Westlake Chaparral. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the University of Texas, where he majored in music and played football for the Texas Longhorns.
In a 2011 contest between Texas A&M University and the University of Texas, he made the game-winning field goal with a few seconds left to give his team the victory and raise them to the No. 25 ranking at the moment. He was selected by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Tucker kicked a field goal in each of the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s in the 2013 game at Ford Field in Detroit against the Detroit Lions, making history in the process. In March 2016, he decided to accept a franchise offer that would have made him $4.5 million. In July of the same year, he consented to a four-year, $16.8 million contract extension.
In April 2019, he consented to a second contract extension that would keep him under contract through the 2023 season. This contract was for $23.05 million over four years, with a guarantee of $12 million. On August 8, 2022, he signed a $4 million, four-year contract with the Ravens, putting his wage at the top of the league for kickers.
