Tyler Allgeier grew up in Fontana, California, and attended Henry J. Kaiser High School. He played high school football and finished his high school career with a record-setting 5,000 running yards and 56 touchdowns.
After high school, Allgeier attended Brigham Young University (BYU) and played for the BYU Cougars from (2018–2021).
Allgeier appeared in four games during his freshman season at BYU in 2018 and had nine carries for a total of 49 yards. He went from being a running back to a linebacker in 2019.
