Younghoe Koo, an American placekicker of South Korean descent, is a member of the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League. Seungmae Choi and Hyunseo Koo are Koo’s parents. He was conceived on August 3, 1994, in Seoul, the nation’s capital.
He used to play soccer, and he won the top prize in a regional kicking contest. His professional career began in 2017 with the Los Angeles Chargers, but after missing back-to-back game-winning kicks four weeks into the season, he was released.
After taking a year off from the sport, Koo returned as an Atlanta Legends player for the Alliance of American Football (AAF), where he scored the league’s first points and made every attempt at a field goal up until the league’s indefinite suspension.
Who Drafted Younghoe Koo?
Following the 2017 NFL Draft, Koo signed a non-drafted free agent contract with the Los Angeles Chargers. After the preseason, he beat out Josh Lambo, the current kicker, for the starting position.
Koo became the fourth player to have been born in South Korea in NFL history.
For the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League, Younghoe Koo is now a placekicker. He sports the team’s number 7 jersey. One of the few Asians in American athletics, Koo is renowned for being an excellent athlete.
