Bryan Anger is an American football punter for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He played college football in California.
During the 2012 NFL Draft, Anger was chosen in the third round, coming in at number 70 overall.
He became the highest punter selected in the draft since Todd Sauerbrun was selected 56th overall in 1995, and he became the first punter drafted by the Jaguars since 2007 when he was selected.
The Jaguars released punters Nick Harris and Spencer Lanning the following day, on April 29, respectively. Harris, just like Anger, played for the University of California’s collegiate team.
As a rookie, he had a yardage average of 47.8 per punt and was second in the league with a net average of 40.8 yards per punt.
CBS Sports, ESPN, and Pro Football Weekly, amongst many other media outlets, each placed him on their respective All-Rookie teams.
According to the results of a vote held by the Associated Press, Anger was also given a spot on the 2012 All-Pro Team. In the league in 2013, he punted for yards and finished in second place.
During the 2014 season, he finished first in the league in punting yards and yards per punt.

Camarillo High School was the location of Bryan Anger’s high school years before he went on to complete his studies at the University of California, Berkeley, having already received a football scholarship to attend that institution.
He recorded a 43.1-yard punt average as a redshirt freshman, which ranks sixth all-time in school history, and he had 26 punts that were brought down within the 20-yard line.
