Jacob McQuaide is a long snapper for the National Football League’s Dallas Cowboys, a team that plays professional football. He is 1.88 m tall and weighs 108 kg. His alma mater was Elder High School, where he played football as well. As a sophomore, he helped the football team win the OHSAA State Championship. As a senior tight end, he had 10 catches for 125 yards.
After graduating from high school, he started his college football career as a walk-on for the Ohio State Buckeyes. As a redshirt freshman, he alternately played long snapper in the first seven games. As a sophomore, he became the team’s long snapper for punts and place kicks.
Although he was never permitted to play tight end or contribute any stats there, he continued to serve as the team’s long snapper throughout his stay in college. He took part in three Big Ten Conference wins (2007, 2008 and 2009). McQuaide was a free agent after the 2011 NFL Draft when he was signed by the St. Louis Rams.
When he joined the Dallas Cowboys in March 2021, he reconnected with Rams special teams coach John Fassel. In March 2022, McQuaide re-signed with Dallas for a single year. He tore his left triceps on the game’s final snap against the Washington Commanders, necessitating his placement on the injured reserve list.
