American football defensive tackle Fletcher Cox is now a member of the National Football League’s Philadelphia Eagles.
In 1990, on December 13th, Cox was born. He attended Mississippi State University on a football scholarship,
played college football there, and was chosen by the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
Cox won the Super Bowl, and six times since then, he has been selected to play in the Pro Bowl. Cox was recognized as an All-American by Pro Football Weekly in 2011 while he was still a junior.
In addition to his 103 total tackles in football, he also had 11 quarterback sacks and two interceptions. He finished seventh in the high jump competition at the 2009 Division 3-4A Meet with a leap of 1.74 meters.
Despite receiving scholarships from LSU, Alabama, Auburn, and Ole Miss, he chose to enroll at Michigan State University.
The Philadelphia Eagles selected Cox as their 12th overall choice in the 2012 NFL Draft. Cox has 39 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 4 passes defended, and 1 forced fumble at the end of his rookie campaign.
He also took part in each of the season’s 15 games. Cox received an honourable mention on the All-Pro second team and was selected for the Pro Bowl for the first time ever.
The Eagles released Cox at the start of the 2017 NFL season, but two days later they revoked that release and signed him to a one-year contract.

Cox’s total compensation in 2022 will consist of a base salary of $1,500,000, a signing bonus of $12,500,000, a cap hit of $4,000,000, and a dead cap value of $14,000,000. In addition, Cox’s contract stipulates that he will have a cap hit of $4,000,000.
