Football placekicker Jake Elliott plays for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. He is 1.75 m tall and 76 kg. At Lyons Township High School, where he played football, he was named to the Chicago Tribune’s First Team All-State before beginning his junior year of high school.
As a senior, he made 15 of his 21 field goal tries, earning him a spot on Kohl’s All-America List’s second team as a kicker. After his senior year of high school, he was offered full scholarships to both the University of North Dakota and the University of Memphis, but he chose to play for the Memphis Tigers there instead.
He was chosen to be the freshmen team’s starting kicker during the summer’s practice sessions. His 56-yard field goal against USF beat Stephen Gostkowsk’s previous Memphis record of 53 yards, and after his rookie season, he was the Tigers’ top scorer with 72 points. In the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Elliott was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals as the 153rd pick overall.
In September 2017 after being cut by the Bengals, he was acquired by the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles franchise record for the best field goal percentage in a single season was set by him in 2021, when he successfully converted 100% of his extra-point attempts, shattering the previous mark of 90%.
