Last Thursday, the Eagles and Haason Reddick came to a $45 million, three-year contract agreement.
A source in the league said that Reddick’s contract includes a $15 million salary per year, as well as $30 million that is fully guaranteed, a $13,715,000 signing bonus, and a $13,670,000 option bonus.
The Eagles set up their deal so that it would have the least amount of effect on their salary cap in 2022. Just $4.028 million will be deducted from Reddick’s salary cap during the upcoming season.
Reddick received the majority of his salary as a signing bonus and an option bonus, both of which he will get from the Eagles in the following season. As a result, the Eagles were able to keep his basic pay low for the first two seasons of his contract.
The cap hit from these bonuses is spread out throughout the entirety of the contract because they are calculated on a pro-rated basis, whereas the season-specific impact of basic salary is felt immediately.
This agreement will automatically expire after three years (from 2022 to 2027) for cap reasons. In recent times, the Eagles have made frequent use of this particular approach.
Following the expiration of those years, the remaining prorated amounts on the contract will increase, with 2025 serving as the final dead cap sum.
How Much Does Haason Reddick Make?
