Cam Sims, a wide receiver, competes for the Washington Commanders in the National Football League. He weighs 100 kilograms and stands 1.96 meters tall. He attended Ouachita Parish High School, where he participated in football during his high school years. After graduating from high school, he made a commitment to play college football for the University of Alabama and was rated as a four-star prospect.
From 2014 through 2017, he played football for the Alabama Crimson Tide, beginning as a reserve and contributing in his junior and senior years. Sims was not selected in the 2018 NFL Draft and so became an undrafted free agent before signing with the Washington Redskins in May of that year.
After being released by the Redskins in August 2019, he was immediately added to the team’s practice squad. In October 2019, he got moved up to the active roster. In the Wild Card round against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he made his playoff debut and was the team’s top receiver, catching seven passes for 104 yards. He finished the 2020 regular season with 32 receptions for 477 yards and one receiving touchdown.
In March 2021, the Redskins tendered him as a restricted free agent. Sims was deactivated on December 15, 2021, and then reactivated four days later. Sims was then added to the COVID-19 reserve list. In March 2022, he renewed his contract with the Commanders for a year.
